Made in Japan Original Design Knit TABI SOCKS Unisex 23-25 cm
Socks pattern features 木うそ (uso-ki) which is a wooden folk toy - doll named after a bird Uso. It’s used for the sacred New year ritual “Uso Kae” which held at the shrines throughout Japan. Worshippers gather to exchange "uso", wooden hand-carved bullfinch. Exchanging bullfinch (uso, also means "lie" in Japanese) turns the "lie" into "truth" and will bring happiness and prosperity for the new year.
These beautiful high quality socks are traditional Japanese socks called Tabi (足袋). Ankle-high and with a separation between the big toe and other toes, they are worn by both men and women with zori, geta, and other traditional Japanese footwear or nowadays with modern sandals.
