Japanese samurai sword 'katana' shaped scissors, inspired by the sword cherished by one of the most important men of the samurai revolution at the dawn of modern Japan - Sakamoto Ryoma (坂本龍馬 1836 -1867).

Seki is a city located in Gifu prefecture which boasts itself as one of the most traditional sword making areas in Japan, where swordsmiths are currently still producing samurai swords. Their traditional techniques are used for these scissors. You can find a beautiful ripple pattern and decollations, unique to Japanese swords, in this product. About Sakamoto Ryoma: Ryoma played a key role in the transfer of power from the Tokugawa Shogunate to the Meiji government in the closing years of the Edo Period (1603-1867). He is historically one of the most popular and famous samurai, and has been the focus of many books and TV shows. This model sword was the one that famous Sakamoto Ryoma (1836-1867) had with him when assassins attacked him in Kyoto. It was made by a swordsmith who went by the professional name of Mutsu no Kami Yoshiyuki.
