This adorable little dog netsuke resembles a benevolent dog amulet (inu hariko). Inu hariko - Japanese figurine (lucky charm, talisman), usually made of ceramic. It is believed to bring good luck to the owner and also a traditional symbol of protection. Since Edo period, dogs are guardians of the house and the family.
