KANZASHI Hair Ornament Handcrafted from Resin: Pale Sakura blossoms
This kanzashi is inspired by one of the greatest and oldest cherry tree of Japan - USUZUMI ZAKURA (淡墨桜). Located in the beautiful mountains of Gifu Prefecture Usuzumi Zakura is over 1,500 years old! The tree is said to have been planted in person by Emperor Keitai in the 6th century. The name Usuzumi Zakura means “pale cherry blossom”, which describes the very light grey/pink colour of the tree blossoms just as they are about to fall. This unique cherry tree initially sprouts pale pink flowers, which become pure white in full bloom, finally changing to pale grey before falling to the ground.
Startlingly realistic and beautiful.
This hair comb is the type called "Kanzashi." Kanzashi have been used to decorate the hair of Japanese women throughout the ages.
Material: metallic wire and resin.
Size (Cm): Length: 10-12; Width: 4-6
Please note: Details and colors of the images might be slightly different from the actual product. As it is hand made, small imperfections are common in the lacquer work on kanzashi in this quality range.
